Meet Sandi Hall
On Earth, the voice of the world has primarily been male for at least 3000 years. My first awareness of this power was when I was eleven and an adult male I barely knew gave me orders he expected me to follow without question. Obediently.

That was the first time I felt the push of disobedience. I thought, "Why does he get to tell me what to do?"

So I became a writer who questions the words of men, and actively tries to present different viewpoints. My first novel was written in reaction to The Godfather, a novel of corrupt male power by Mario Puzo.

But I am also a writer who delights at using the power of one of the world's most flexible languages. Using it to entertain, tease, seduce, amuse, maybe agree, while telling a cracking good story. It helps that I also find our marvellous planet endlessly gorgeous, endlessly inspiring.

The highest honour I can conceive for my work is if it makes another woman think differently.
